With yet another sweep by Joe Gibbs Racing in XFINITY Series qualifying in 2016, Erik Jones grabbed the pole for the Hisense 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 20-year-old won his fourth pole of 2016 and seventh of his XFINITY career at a lap time of 29.261 seconds [184.546 mph].
Leading teammates Daniel Suarez and Denny Hamlin, Jones continues a run of 21 consecutive races starting inside the top 10.
Behind the JGR trio is Austin Dillon, who won the most recent XFINITY event at Charlotte last fall, starting fourth. Kyle Larson took victory in this race two years ago and will round out the top 5 from the fifth spot.
The session its saw one on-track accident when Jeb Burton spun his No. 43 Ford off turn 4. Sliding through the grass, Burton experienced minor rear-end damage before qualifying 27th.
Completing the top 10 is Elliott Sadler, Joey Logano, Justin Allgaier, Darrell Wallace, Jr. and Ty Dillon.
TJ Bell and Morgan Shepherd are the two drivers who failed to qualifying.
