For the second consecutive week, the Sprint Cup Series will compete under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This week, it’s for a Memorial Day Weekend classic as drivers battle for the illustrious Coca-Cola 600 victory.
There are 40 cars entered, meaning all will make the field for Sunday.
All drivers who attempted the last points race at Dover International Speedway will compete at Charlotte this week.
Defending race winner Carl Edwards will look for his third victory of the season and to tie his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch for most wins in the sport through 13 races in 2016.
A Memorial Day Weekend tradition will continue in the Coca-Cola 600 as many drivers sport patriotic paint schemes. This includes Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmie Johnson, and Michael McDowell, among many more.
Action from Charlotte begins on Thursday with opening practice at 2 p.m. followed by qualifying at 7:15 p.m. (all times ET). Cars will return to the track on Saturday for the second practice session of the weekend at 10 a.m. and final practice at 1 p.m. Coverage of the Coca-Cola 600 begins on Sunday at 6 p.m. on FOX.
