William Byron picked up where he left off after winning at Kansas Speedway last weekend, topping the first of two practices at Dover International Speedway Thursday for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Byron was joined by fellow young gun Cole Custer at the top of the speed charts; the JR Motorsports driver paced the second practice, during which Byron placed 17th.

The Kyle Busch Motorsports driver’s fast time in practice one was 159.426 mph, while Custer’s ended a few mph slower at 157.577 mph.

Brandon Jones placed second in first practice; the XFINITY Series regular clocked in at 158.695 mph. Jones is making his first series start of 2016.

Matt Tifft, Cameron Hayley and Matt Crafton rounded out the top 5 for practice one. Meanwhile, Christopher Bell, Ben Kennedy, Tifft and Daniel Hemric filled out the top 5 in the second practice.

Thirty-four trucks are entered for 32 positions; two will go home.
