NASCAR Reveals Current Top 5 in Sprint Fan Vote

If you’re curious about which drivers are most likely to snag this year’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race fan vote, you can now know the top five, at least.

NASCAR has released the names of the top five vote-getters in the fan vote so far for the race, which will be held May 20, through May 11. Though it is an unordered list, some of the expected suspects are there, including Danica Patrick and Chase Elliott.

They’re joined by Elliott’s fellow rookie Ryan Blaney, plus Kyle Larson and Matt DiBenedetto.

The fan vote for the All-Star Race, held at Charlotte Motor Speedway, is limited to drivers competing in the race who are not already eligible for the race and will need to race their way in during the preceding Sprint Showdown.

All told, the fan vote spot will be given to the driver who doesn’t race his or her way in during the Showdown and has the highest percentage of votes otherwise.

Of course, fans who don’t see their favorite driver in the top five can still get their racer into contention. Voting ends May 20 at 5 p.m. ET, followed by the race at 7 p.m. The All-Star Race is scheduled for May 21.
