Kyle Busch continued his hot streak on Friday, winning the final Sprint Cup practice session at Bristol Motor Speedway in advance of Saturday’s IRWIN Tools Night Race.
Busch’s lap of 131.146 mph was good enough to put him in the top three in both practice sessions Friday. David Ragan (130.646) placed second.
The rest of the top five went to Kyle Larson (130.018), Joey Logano (129.587) and Denny Hamlin (129.404).
Series points leader Kevin Harvick (129.334), Ryan Blaney (129.290), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (129.090), Jimmie Johnson (129.073) and Kasey Kahne (128.709) rounded out the top 10.
Martin Truex Jr., who crashed in the first practice session, got acclimated with his backup car in this practice session. He placed 21st with a lap of 127.724.
Timmy Hill, Mike Bliss and Landon Cassill were the slowest three cars.
The Sprint Cup will return to the track at 5:45 for qualifying. Coverage can be seen on NBC Sports Network.
