Blake Koch Lands Breakthrough Xfinity Series Deal for 2016

The future just became as stable as ever for Blake Koch. Competing in the Xfinity Series since 2011 for the majority of each season, 2015 marks the first time he has had the opportunity to race full-time.

TriStar Motorsports announced that the 30-year-old will be returning to the organization in 2016 for Koch’s third year with the multi-car team. LeafFilter, which partnered with him for two races in the Sprint Cup Series in 2014 for Go Green Racing, joined TriStar at the beginning of 2015 for 13 races. After expanding its sponsorship deal for several unsponsored races for the remainder of the season, LeafFilter will be the primary sponsor of Koch’s car for the entire 33-race Xfinity Series season in 2016.

“I am also very excited to continue my relationship with TriStar Motorsports in 2016,” Koch said in a press release. “Mark and Kathy Smith took a chance on me two years ago, when I had very little sponsorship, so to be able to put this plan together for 2016 feels extra special.”

Through 20 races, Koch sits 17th in the championship standings with five top 20s for TriStar in the No. 8 Toyota. LeafFilter has sponsored 12 races, with Celsius Negative Calorie Cola and a handful of other companies being splashed onto the car.
