Brennan Poole’s dream season just grew a bit more.
HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi announced today (April 6) that Poole will compete in two additional NASCAR Xfinity races this season, raising his total to 17 races in 2015. Poole will drive in the May 17 and August 1 events at Iowa Speedway, driving the No. 42 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro.
“I am pleased that Brennan will be running the No. 42 DC Solar Camaro in the Xfinity Series at both Iowa events this year,” said team owner Harry Scott Jr. in a release. “He has really impressed me so far this year with his performances in Las Vegas and Phoenix. The Iowa Speedway configuration should play right into Brennan’s skill set, and I’m looking forward to seeing him have successful runs at each event. We’re excited to have DC Solar on board for those two additional races and appreciate them supporting Brennan and our program.”
Poole, 23, has competed in two races so far this season, running at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) and Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). He scored his first career top-10 finish in his first race at LVMS, leading his first laps at PIR.
Jeff Carpoff, the President and CEO of DC Solar, expressed his excitement over the announcement.
“As exciting as it was to watch Brennan leave an indelible mark on the first two NASCAR races of his career, the real excitement is yet to come,” said Carpoff. “DC Solar is going to be right there with him.”
Poole will run 15 more Xfinity Series races in 2015, competing at tracks such as Daytona, Charlotte, and Kentucky, where he won in the ARCA Racing Series.
Poole will return to the No. 42 Chevrolet this weekend for Friday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. The race will be aired on FOX Sports 1 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
