Chad Boat to Make Truck Debut with Father’s Team

In his young career, Chad Boat has run in the XFINITY Series, K&N Pro East and West and even in sprint cars, most recently making the A-Main at the Chili Bowl Nationals.

In 2015, he’ll add another series to his resume: the Camping World Truck Series.

Billy Boat Motorsports (BBM) announced today that Chad Boat will run select races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, making his debut in the No. 16 Chevrolet Silverado for BBM at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. The Phoenix, Arizona native will run alongside teammate Mason Mingus, who will run the entire 2015 Truck Series season for BBM.

Chad Boat will also drive in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, fielding the No. 84 Chevrolet for BBM in select races. Boat ran 14 races in the XFINTIY Series in 2014, leading two laps and scoring a career-best 22nd-place finish at Iowa Speedway. Boat finished 29th in the 2014 season points standings.

The news was included with the announcement of renewed partnerships with Keen Parts. CorvetteParts.net, a section of Keen Parts, will serve as an associate sponsor for Chad Boat, starting with the season-opening NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 21.

“TJ (Keen) and I are looking forward to partnering with Chad and the Billy Boat Motorsports team for the 2015 season,” said Keen parts owner co-owner Tom Keen in a press release. “We enjoyed a working relationship with the team last season and are pleased to partner with BBM for the sophomore year in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.”

Boat echoed Keen’s excitement.

“I’m really excited about getting back on the track in the NASCAR XFINITY Series with CorvetteParts.net, and to make my debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2015,” said Boat in a press release. “The whole Billy Boat Motorsports team has been working hard this off-season to build great equipment, and I believe that will show on the track this season.”

Other sponsors have yet to be announced. Fans can watch Boat drive the No. 84 Chevrolet Camaro in the Alert Florida 300 at Daytona International Speedway this Saturday, February 21 at 3:30 pm ET on Fox Sports 1.
