The Motorsports Group Announces Sprint Cup Plans, NNS Organization For Sale

The Motorsports Group announced today via the team’s Facebook page that their Nationwide / XFINITY Series organization is for sale.

The sale has 10 Chevrolet Camaros are available as well as 4-R07 engines plus numerous other assets. The cars included are two road course, three short track, two speedway, and three intermediate. The organization stated that it will sell all cars together, or separately. 

Throughout the 2014 season, Ryan Ellis and Matt DiBenedetto has piloted the team’s cars in various events. Ellis has made 11 of the 15 races that he has attempted this year, failing to qualify for the other four races. Ellis’ best career finish is a 24th at Richmond International Raceway. Meanwhile, DiBenedetto has made 26 of the 30 races this year, failing to qualify for the other four events. Of the 26 races that he has run, he has only finished 10 of them as a result of mechanical issues in the other events. His best finish this year was an 11th at Road America.

TMG added that the reason for sale is that they are entering the Sprint Cup Series in 2015 and will be closing the Nationwide Series organization at the end of the year.
