Kaz Grala to Race for Ben Kennedy Racing in 2015

Kaz Grala will be running with a different organization in 2015.

Grala, 15, announced on Thursday morning that he will be joining forces with Ben Kennedy Racing. Although sponsorship details were not immediately announced, he will be replacing Kenzie Ruston with the organization.

Ben Kennedy and Mike Fritts have done a great job making Ben Kennedy Racing a top NASCAR K&N Pro Series East team,” said  Grala in a press release. “I couldn’t be more excited for the 2015 season. Being able to look to Ben for advice and with Mike Fritts making the calls on the pit box – I really can’t ask for a better opportunity.”

Ruston, who just completed her second season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, finished inside of the top 10 in the standings for the second straight year. In 2014, she joined Ben Kennedy Racing after recording four top 5s and six top 10s with Turner Scott Motorsports in 2013. However, her car had blank quarter-panels for 12 of the 16 races this year.

Over the past week, she has been auditioning for a ride with Rev Racing in the NASCAR Drive for Diversity combine. After not finding any resources to return to the team in 2015, Ruston is a favorite to get a ride with that organization.

As for Grala, he appears to be following in Ruston’s footsteps. He ran his rookie campaign with Turner Scott Motorsports, and earned four top 5s with 10 top 10s, ending the year with a runner-up finish at Dover.
