After two consecutive weeks of turning left and right, the Nationwide Series returned to the high banks of the Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday for practice sessions in preparation for tomorrow night’s Food City 300.
Championship points leader Chase Elliott was the fastest man in town in opening practice, piloting his No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet around the half mile bullring with a speed of 123.324 mph. Kyle Busch was second, Kevin Harvick third, Brian Scott fourth and Ryan Blaney fifth. Kyle Larson was 6th, Regan Smith was 7th, Ty Dillon was 8th, Dylan Kwasniewski 9th, and Trevor Bayne rounded out the top 10 in the morning session.

Meanwhile, Larson jumped to the top in the second practice with a quicker speed of 125.313 mph. He was followed by Busch, Scott, Blaney, Elliott, Brendan Gaughan, Cale Conley, Smith, Dillon and Bayne, respectively.
The Nationwide Series returns to the track tomorrow for Food City 300 qualifying at 3:40 p.m. ET, and the Food City 300 goes green at 7:43 p.m. ET
