Elliott Sadler wins Nationwide Pole for the Dollar General 300

With the Nationwide race for the championship winding down to a three horse race, every small advantage is going to be a positive influence for teams and drivers. Point leader Elliott Sadler laid down another gauntlet at Charlotte by setting the fast time in qualifying for the Dollar General 300 for the Nationwide Series Friday afternoon. Sadler turned a lap at 29.310 mph which was good for a speed of 184.237 mph. Sadler topped his Richard Childress Racing teammate Austin Dillon, who will start to his outside after runing a 29.347 second lap at a speed of 184.005 mph. Joey Logano was third quick in the session, tripping the timing beam at 29.378 seconds with a speed of 183.811 mph. The second place driver in the point standings will roll off on the outside of the second row after Ricky Stenhouse Jr. timed in at 29.390 seconds which equates to a speed of 183.736 mph. Kevin Harvick was the fifth fastest in qualifying at 29.506 seconds which gave him a 183.014 mph speed. Outside of the third row will be Kyle Busch who put his name on the qualifying sheet with a 29.516 second lap for a speed of 182.952 mph.

The race will go green at 7:48 pm Eastern time on ESPN2
