Sponsorship woes will no longer keep Clint Bowyer or owner Michael Waltrip Racing awake at night. Friday at Bowyer’s home track of Kansas Speedway (April 20), 5-hour Energy announced that they were expanding their sponsorship from around 25 races to all but one race on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.
Aaron’s will be on the No. 15 Toyota at Talladega Superspeedway, honoring the University of Alabama’s BCS National Championship winning football program.
“5-hour Energy is extremely excited about the consumer exposure and sales growth we have achieved since moving up to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and partnering with Michael Waltrip Racing and Clint Bowyer this season,” said Scott Henderson, president of 5-hour Energy.
5-hour Energy cited television exposure and sales growth as reasons for expanding their sponsorship, in addition to the team’s stellar performance seven races into the season. At this point in the season, Bowyer is sitting 10th in points with three top 10s and an average finish of 13th.
