HAMPTON, Ga. – Ricky Carmichael was the fastest truck in the first practice session for the Camping World Truck Series and utilized the resulting qualifying position to grab the first pole of his career. Carmichael turned a lap of 31.179 seconds for a speed of 177.812 mph.
Starting outside of Carmichael will be Clint Bowyer, who was just two hundredths of a second slower than Carmichael, turning a lap of 31.195 seconds and speed of 177.721 mph.
The second row for tonight’s fifth annual Good Sam Club 200 will have James Beuscher and Parker Kligerman, who ran 31.256-second and 31.335-second laps respectively. Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch rounded out the top six in qualifying. The green flag flies at 8:20 p.m. ET tonight on the Good Sam Club 200.
