Last weekend started off with a trip to Ace speedway on Thursday night (July 7) with the super late model for practice. It went very well and my new team and I had the car dialed in. I finished the night off with a good dinner at Hooters. Friday, practice went well, my team had the car to my liking. Going into qualifying my team and I wanted a decent starting spot for the race. We ended up qualifying 14th right next to our teammate Joey Coulter. Finished the race off in 10th and it gave us something to build on.
Saturday I hung out at the house with my friends and swam in the pool. Sunday, went over to some good friends’ house on the lake and tubed. Monday, I was excited for the Legend Car race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Started out with practice and my crew chief and I made some changes to the car to make it better. Then we went into qualifying and did not get the time we wanted.
But after qualifying we looked at the engine and my crew chief and I decided to let US Legends take a look at our engine. At that time they discovered that I had a blown head gasket. After that discovery we had the main event and I started 13th in the main. As the race went on I knew that we were down on power so I was focused on bringing home the car in one piece and had a 14th-place finish.
The rest of the week I have been focused on my training because at The Summer Shootout the heat has been high. I have been jogging a lot during the day in the heat to prepare my myself for the remainder of the season and the Legends MILLION$!
