Dover Adds SAFER Barrier, Expands Pit Stalls Ahead of Race Weekend

Dover International Speedway announced a few safety improvements that are being made ahead of this weekend’s triple-header.

The track added 479 feet of SAFER barrier along the backstretch and turn three inside wall. Additionally, 401 feet of the barrier was added in front of the turn three nside guardrail and 78 feet was added to the backstretch wall.

To accommodate the new 40 car field in the Sprint Cup Series this season, the track has removed three pit stalls and lengthened the remaining stalls by two feet each. Each stall is now 34 feet by 16 feet.

In addition, 550 feet of pavement was placed between the Sprint Cup Series garage entrance inside of turn one and the start finish line.

Action from the Monster Mile begins on Thursday with Camping World Truck Series practice and will be followed by the Dover 200 on Friday, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 200 on Saturday, and AAA 400 Drive for Autism on Sunday.
