Nitro, Rette Jones Teams Penalized After Daytona

A pair of ARCA Menards Series teams received penalties following the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, ARCA announced Feb. 19 via its postrace penalty report.

Nitro Motorsports’ No. 20, driven by Jake Bollman, was docked for a violation regarding noncompliant equipment.

Crew chief Doug George was fined $1,500 and placed on probation through Aug. 14, while Bollman and the team itself lost six championship points.

Meanwhile, Rette Jones Racing’s No. 76, driven by Kole Raz, was found to be in violation of the series’ minimum/maximum roof height specifications.

Crew chief Greg Zipadelli was fined $2,500 and received probation through Aug. 14, and Raz and the team were penalized 12 championship points.

Bollman finished runner-up in the race in his quest for the series championship. Raz, whose plans past Daytona have not been announced, was third.
