Corey Heim a Winner Again at Martinsville; 4 Drivers Eliminated Before Season Finale

Another day, another win for Corey Heim, who claimed the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway Oct. 24 to score his 11th victory of the 2025 season.

Heim had already clinched a spot into the Championship 4 as he looks to earn his first series title in Phoenix Raceway next weekend.

“I don’t want to jump to any conclusions” Heim said in regards to title chances postrace. “We got a big race next week and we wanted momentum going to Phoenix (and) keep all our guys with heads held high. We know what they’re working on going into Phoenix.

“I feel like it was a rocky race (and) we started getting behind on track position. We wanted to capitalize on out day and make the most of it. We really didn’t think we had the truck we had in the spring, but once we got up front it really showed we had a ton to work with.

“We got a big one next week to close it out. It’s going to be tough, but I’m confident we can do it.”

He’ll be joined in the final round by Kaden Honeycutt, Ty Majeski and Tyler Ankrum, who made it into the Championship 4 on points by virtue of their finishes throughout the Round of 8.

Layne Riggs, Rajah Caruth, Grant Enfinger and Daniel Hemric, meanwhile, were eliminated. Honeycutt finished second in the race and scored the Championship 4 berth over Riggs via a tiebreaker.

Brent Crews finished in third, with Corey LaJoie in fourth and Chandler Smith rounding out the top five.

Riggs took control from the pole before a caution came seven laps in due to Andres Perez spinning off the front bumper of Matt Crafton.

Riggs continued to the lead at the restart as Majeski battled with Gio Ruggiero for second. A caution came a few laps later for fluid on the track.

On the following restart, Riggs missed a shift, which gave the top spot to Majeski after backing up the whole inside line.

As the field battled for points, Norm Benning was spun by Brenden Queen, which caused a caution with under 10 to go in stage one. The incident also collected playoff driver Hemric, who rear-ended the truck of Queen, sustaining heavy front-end damage.

The stage restarted with four laps left with Majeski emerging up front before Heim took the lead one lap later. Heim held on the rest of the way to win the stage, with Majeski collecting valuable stage points, finishing in second.

In the second stage, Honeycutt made contact with the side of Caruth’s truck, which cut the No. 71’s left rear tire. Caruth spun and hit the outside wall, destroying his truck and ending his playoff chances.

Heim went on to claim stage two in a stage sweep, with Majeski and Riggs claiming second and third to add to their points total.

Many of the leaders pitted during the caution, with playoff driver Ankrum losing several spots due to a pit gun issue.

On the restart, the playoff cut line continued to intensify as Ankrum and Honeycutt stood in a tight battle for the final Championship 4 position as Crews took the lead.

Amid another restart with 16 to go, Crews fought Heim out of turn 2 for the lead as Honeycutt made a three-wide pass to make his way to third. A caution came a lap later for Bayley Currey, with Heim edging Crews at the time of caution.

The move for Honeycutt gave him a two-point buffer over Riggs, who dropped below the cut line falling one point behind Ankrum.

Majeski had a horrible restart, dropping all the way to ninth as another caution came as Conner Jones spun trying to make his way through the middle, collecting multiple trucks.

On the overtime restart, Heim led the way as drivers battled behind. After the finish, Honeycutt got the last spot in the Championship 4 due to having the best finish of the round over Riggs.
