Daniel Suarez has a new home for the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Suarez will take over the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet, the team announced Oct. 22.
Suarez joins Spire after previously announcing earlier this year he would not be returning to Trackhouse Racing, for whom he has competed full time for the past five seasons.
Freeway Insurance will serve as one of the primary sponsors for Suarez, beginning with the 2026 Daytona 500.
His move to Spire will mark the fifth different Cup team of his career following previous stints at Joe Gibbs Racing and the defunct Stewart-Haas Racing and Gaunt Brothers Racing teams.
This announcement comes after Spire and Justin Haley agreed to part ways at the conclusion of the 2025 season.
“Spire’s growth over the last few years is quite impressive,” Suarez said in a team release. “That’s something I have mentioned to every single member who I have talked to at Spire Motorsports. I’m sure I’m not the only person who can see that and I’m excited to be part of it now.
“I know that even with the growth Spire has had the last few years, it hasn’t reached its full potential, just yet. There is a lot more out there to achieve, and I want to be part of that. I want to be part of that growth and use my experience to help my team, and the entire company continue to grow.”
“I have a lot of respect for how Daniel has forged his path here and has become a mainstay in the industry and it’s easy to see how he’s done it,” Spire co-owner Jeff Dickerson added. “He has a great attitude and never stops and we look forward to having another veteran for our organization to learn from and bring a new perspective to move the No. 7 team up the grid.”
Through 34 races this season, Suarez has two top fives and seven top 10s, with a best finish of second at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March.
