This week on Bringing the Heat with Trey Lyle, Todd Gilliland and Dalton Hopkins review the 2025 season for Gilliland’s No. 34 team in the NASCAR Cup Series. Gilliland feels he’s lacked some speed and consistency, especially in the summer stretch. He also adds insight into his team dynamic as a multiyear veteran with Front Row Motorsports and his relationship with his two Cup teammates.
After the interview, Caleb Barnes and Lyle discuss the hottest topics of the week. For starters, a big topic of the week is the new NASCAR 25 console game. While neither have had the opportunity to play the game, it presents an opportunity to grow back into the video game space.
On the racetrack, Spire Motorsports announced Justin Haley will not return to the No. 7. The two look at where things might have gone wrong for Haley, and who might be the next target for one of Spire’s flagship cars.
This week includes a double soundbite, as William Byron and Ty Dillon share their perspectives on the massive crash that ended Byron’s shot at the win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Barnes believes Byron can still point his way into the championship round, and he also defends why Dillon’s pit road entry may not be as egregious as it initially looked.
