This week on Bringing the Heat with Trey Lyle, Mark Garrow of the Performance Racing Network joins Lyle as he looks forward to retiring after a career spanning more than four decades in broadcast. Garrow was born into a racing family, and he tells some incredible stories of his involvement and growth in the racing world.
After the interview, Caleb Barnes and Lyle review the hottest topics of the week. First, the two talk race manipulation, as NASCAR announced that they will meet with the teams to try and get ahead of any shenanigans before the Round of 8.
Off the track, the antitrust lawsuit between 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports versus NASCAR continues, with sudden movement on the negotiation front. Barnes adds what he thinks this could mean for the case.
The soundbite of the week comes from Ross Chastain, who came up just short of advancing after a last-ditch effort to get by Denny Hamlin on the final lap at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. Barnes and Lyle discuss whether or not the No. 1 team made the right decision to differ from Joey Logano and the No. 22 team as split strategies became the focus at the end of the race.
In the final thoughts, Barnes and Lyle add in some opinions about Chastain, Logano, and what we have seen and will see from the rest of these 2025 NASCAR playoffs.
