NASCAR Mailbox: Is the Rest of the Field Closing the Road Course Gap on SVG?

While Shane van Gisbergen won the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, he did so with his fiercest competition yet.

Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell both mounted serious challenges to van Gisbergen in the last stage before ultimately falling short. Of van Gisbergen’s five road course wins this season, it was the ROVAL that proved to be his tallest task.

While he is still the class of the field on lefts and rights, is the rest of the field catching up to him, or are those just delusions of grandeur by his rivals?
