CONCORD, N.C. — Tyler Reddick is no longer competing for a NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2025.
The driver of 23XI Racing’s No. 45 was eliminated from the Round of 12 on Oct. 4 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. The focus of muchof the Bank of America 400 was between Ross Chastain and Joey Logano, with just a few points between them all race. Reddick, meanwhile, ended up missing it by 15.
“I don’t know if anything necessarily went wrong today for how the race was playing out,” Reddick told reporters post-race. “We wanted to prioritize setting up to win the race.”
The 23XI driver started the race on the pole alongside eventual race winner Shane van Gisbergen but faded over time as the runs began to get longer.
“I think you can pick apart a couple of restarts and whatnot,” he said. “As the race unfolded our long run wasn’t just where it needed to be with the top guys.”
In stage three, the team did not give up, throwing various strategies in the hope of catching a break and advanced into the next round.
“We didn’t make the progress we needed to, so we went long hoping for a caution and lost a ton of spots,” Reddick explained. “Maybe we could have chased points a little harder today, but coming into this we played it the way we should have.”
During the chaos of the playoffs, Reddick and his wife, Alexa, have had another battle on their hands with their youngest son, Rookie, battling a heart condition.

During his media availability earlier this week, Reddick gave updates and what he’s been going through, focusing on his son while also being in the playoffs.
“We’re definitely not in the clear; he’s doing much better right now, and there’s some hurdles we need to get through,” he said. “This is the hardest thing we have had to go through, and being away wasn’t ideal, but that was a decision between me and her.”
Support through prayers and meaningful thoughts has come from the garage and fans alike, making an impact on the Reddicks.
“I’ve heard about it coming into this sport,” he said. “The racing community really is there for one another and I’ve really seen that.”
When the focus was brought back to the playoffs and what was needed, it was all about his son over the racing.
“The elimination, everything that’s happening in the racing world, has taken a backseat.”
