Brandon Jones Claims Kansas Xfinity Pole

As the NASCAR Xfinity Series embarks on the Round of 12, it’s Brandon Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing who will lead the field to green at Kansas Speedway after posting a 173.410-mph lap in Saturday’s (Sept. 27) qualifying session.

JGR swept the front row, as Taylor Gray will start on the outside pole alongside his veteran teammate.

Sam Mayer, rookie Brenden Queen — the winner of Friday’s (Sept. 26) ARCA Menards Series race — and Justin Allgaier rounded out the top five.

William Sawalich, Connor Zilisch, Rajah Caruth, Dean Thompson and Sheldon Creed completed the top 10.

All 12 playoff drivers qualified within the top 20. Jesse Love, Nick Sanchez, and Sammy Smith will start alongside each other from 12th to 14th. Austin Hill, Harrison Burton and Carson Kvapil will have work to do, as they will roll off 17th, 18th and 19th, respectively.

Glen Reen was the lone DNQ for this afternoon’s affair.
