NASCAR Weekend Weather Forecast: Kansas
Delay-wise, Kansas Speedway has almost no history of rainouts for Cup races. Given that this is the 25th year that the track has hosted the series, that fact is amazing.
There is only one Cup race in the history of Kansas Speedway that has been shortened for any reason. That was the 2007 LifeLock 400, which had an early rain delay that resulted in the race being shortened to 210 laps due to darkness.
A couple of years after this occurred, the track installed lights, eliminating that possibility. There have been no interruptions in the fall at Kansas due to weather since the 2007 race.
For this weekend, the weather’s looking pretty good. Also, the forecast is really easy. All three days will have high temperatures around 85° with sunny skies and next to no chance of rain. It will be a little humid, but not much.
TV Ratings — Loudon
The last time that New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosted a playoff race, it ended up being the lowest-rated race of the year. Sunday was sadly about the same.
USA Network’s broadcast of the Mobil 1 301 earned a .70 rating with 1.290 million viewers. This is down 30% from last year’s race, which earned a 1.0 rating with 1.880 million viewers in late June. On social media, Jeff Gluck referenced that (in addition to the NFL), the Cup race ran up against the memorial service for Charlie Kirk.
If that number that Gluck noted is true, then there is a possibility that it attracted viewers away from the Cup race. Ratings and viewership for Saturday’s Team EJP 175 for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is currently unavailable.
