After posting the fastest lap in the practice session, Brenden Queen captured the pole for the ARCA Menards Series race at Kansas Speedway on Friday, Sept. 26.
It’s his fourth pole of his season and career. Queen also won the pole and race in the spring race at Kansas, and Pinnacle Racing Group has won two of the last three races there. Queen also won the series’s most recent race at Salem Speedway.
Earning the pole award adds another point to Queen and PRG’s leads in the driver and owner point standings. Leading the driver standings by 56 over Lavar Scott, Queen could earn enough points so that all he must do to win the driver’s championship at Toledo Speedway is complete one lap in practice.
PRG leads Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 by 18 in the owner standings. JGR pilot Gio Ruggiero will start second alongside Queen on the front row.
In his third start in the Venturini Motorsports No. 20 Toyota, Leland Honeyman will line up third.
Ahead of his second Kansas start, Corey Day qualified fourth. He had an issue earlier in practice when he hit a bump in the racetrack and knocked an oil line loose on his No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet. However, his racecar did not need an engine change.
Thad Moffitt, Isabella Robusto, Mason Mitchell, Scott, Kris Wright, and Jason Kitzmiller round out the top 10 starters in fifth through 10th, respectively.
Ryan Roulette was the only one who did not complete a lap in qualifying, so he will start dead last (29th).
All 29 drivers will compete in the 100-lap race on Friday.
