The drivers got what they asked for on Saturday, as extreme tire wear became the focus of Bristol Motor Speedway’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race. Caleb Barnes and Anthony Damcott react to the Saturday night shenanigans.
While Christopher Bell won, tire cording meant drivers had to manage their equipment. Barnes and Damcott discuss the entertaining aspects – and potential pitfalls – of the tire combination, ultimately leading back to shortfalls with the car.
The two also talk about drivers in contention for their first race win, ultimately coming short. Ty Gibbs, Carson Hocevar and Zane Smith all had a shot at the end, but failed to convert. Damcott suggests a history between Smith and Hocevar could have contributed to the two getting passed by Bell at the end.
There is a lot to talk about, but just a little time to do so. Check out Stock Car Scoop on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts!
