Will Power Not Returning to Penske in 2026

Will Power will depart Team Penske following the end of the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series season, the team announced Sept. 2.

Power joined Team Penske part time in the series in 2009 and went full time in 2010. He won 42 races with the team, including the 2018 Indianapolis 500, and earned the 2014 and 2022 championships.

“As we sat down to talk about our future together, Will felt that it was time for him to make a change, beginning with next season,” team owner Roger Penske said in a release. “He has been an outstanding driver and teammate for our organization. His results speak for themselves, and we wish him the very best in the next phase of his career.”

“It’s been the honor of my life to drive for Roger and the Penske organization,” Power added. “We have accomplished so much together, and I will always be grateful for my time with the team and my teammates who have supported me along the way. After much consideration, I felt like a change for me was the right move at this time.”

Power recorded one win, six top fives and eight top 10s in 2025.

Neither his plans for 2026 nor Penske’s replacement have been announced.
