Rinus VeeKay Out at Coyne

Rinus VeeKay will not return to Dale Coyne Racing in the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season, he announced Sept. 2.

VeeKay revealed the news via a post on X.

“I want to thank Dale Coyne Racing and in particular Dale and Gail for the opportunity they gave me to reestablish myself in 2025,” he wrote. “This year was genuinely the most enjoyable year in my career as an IndyCar driver.

“This season and its lessons will stay with me forever.”

VeeKay’s agent had previously confirmed his driver’s move from DCR in a statement to Racer.

DCR has not commented on VeeKay’s departure.

VeeKay joined DCR in 2025 after multiple seasons at Ed Carpenter Racing. He earned a runner-up finish at the Grand Prix of Toronto.

Neither his plans for 2026 nor DCR’s replacement have been announced.
