Max Reaves Leads Wire-to-Wire, Wins ARCA Race at Madison

Max Reaves masters Madison,” FOX Sports announcer Eric Brennan said as Reaves received the checkered flag to win the ARCA Menards Series race at Madison International Speedway on Friday, Aug. 22.

Reaves won the pole award, lapped up to fifth place and led every lap in the Badger 200 to pick up his second career victory.

Reaves’ dominance, earning the maximum 49 points, unofficially gives Joe Gibbs Racing the lead in the owner point standings with a quarter of the 2025 season remaining.

Lavar Scott finished second for the second straight race and the fourth time in his career.

Brenden Queen finished third to keep his points lead.

Isabella Robusto and debutant Julian DaCosta rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth as the last two drivers to finish on the lead lap.

Mason Mitchell, Jason Kitzmiller, Kaylee Bryson, Tony Cosentino and Willie Mullins completed the top 10 finishers in sixth through 10th place, respectively.

The return to the 0.5-mile Wisconsin short track only saw two key incidents affect two expected frontrunners.

While running in second place early in the race, Tristan McKee spun his No. 82 Pinnacle Racing Group Chevrolet. PRG made repairs to McKee’s Chevy, though he fell multiple laps down.

Impressively, the 15-year-old still had a fast racecar and finished 11th, four laps down.

The second caution flag flew when Michael Maples spun in turn 1. As the leaders neared Maples, Lawless Alan checked up too late and spun Maples’ teammate Shane Backes.

Alan sustained serious damage to his No. 20 Venturini Motorsports, relegating him to his second straight disappointing result. Ultimately, Alan wound up 36 laps down in 18th place.

Reaves scored the fourth win of the season for JGR and he will return to the No. 18 in the series’ next race at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.
