Matt Crafton Retiring From Full-Time Driving After 2025, Ty Majeski Moving to No. 88

Matt Crafton will retire from full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series competition at the end of the 2025 season, ThorSport Racing announced Aug. 18.

As part of the move, Ty Majeski will drive the No. 88 in 2026, taking over a truck Crafton has driven for most of his career.

During Crafton’s tenure with ThorSport, which ran first from 2000-2003 and again from 2005 to the present, he earned three championships and has scored each of his 15 wins with the organization. His lone season away from the team came in 2004 with Kevin Harvick Inc.

In 2025, Crafton is 16th in points with three top 10s, having missed the playoff field last weekend at Richmond Raceway.

Majeski, meanwhile, is sixth in points with five top fives and 11 top 10s. The defending series champion, he currently drives ThorSport’s No. 98.

The rest of ThorSport’s 2026 lineup has not been announced.

The release announcing Crafton’s retirement specifically noted him moving away from full-time driving, which implies the possibility of future starts for the driver on a part-time basis.
