Shane van Gisbergen Signs Multiyear Extension With Trackhouse

Shane van Gisbergen has signed a multiyear extension to stay with Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, the team announced Aug. 8.

The 36-year-old New Zealander will remain with Trackhouse through at least 2027; the exact length of the extension was not announced.

“I feel like Trackhouse Racing is my home,” van Gisbergen said in a team release. “Trackhouse gave me the opportunity to race at [the] Chicago [street course] in 2023. That was just a one-race deal, and everything that has happened since then is because of the chance Justin [Marks, owner] took on me.

“The men and women at Trackhouse have helped me feel at home in this new challenge, and I’ve been loving every minute of it. We still have a lot of work to do, but I couldn’t be happier.”

Van Gisbergen burst onto the NASCAR scene in 2023, collecting his first win in his first start at the Chicago Street Course.

In 2024, van Gisbergen spent the season with Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in a partnership with Trackhouse, where he earned three victories before moving to the Cup Series in 2025.

In his first full Cup season with Trackhouse, van Gisbergen has earned three road course victories, securing a spot in the playoffs.

“We are getting to watch one of the superstars of racing,” Marks added. “What we are asking him to do carries a high degree of difficulty. He’s moved to the other side of the world, learned a new form of racing and at times dominated the competition. He’s one of the greatest.”

Trackhouse currently fields three cars with Ross Chastain and van Gisbergen occupying two of its vehicles for 2026. Trackhouse’s third driver for next year has yet to be announced; Daniel Suarez is its current driver.
