Kaden Honeycutt Finishing Season With HFR After Watkins Glen

Kaden Honeycutt will fill in for Stewart Friesen in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starting at Richmond Raceway, Halmar Friesen Racing announced Aug. 5.

Honeycutt was released from Niece Motorsports on Aug. 4, as Honeycutt signed a deal with a different team and OEM in 2026.

Friesen was injured on July 28 in the Super DIRTcar Series King of the North event and will be out for the rest of the season.

Honeycutt is able to retain his championship position in the driver standings, while HFR’s No. 52 continues its run at the owners’ title after Friesen won earlier this season at Michigan International Speedway.

“It’s an honor to be able to fill in for Stewart for the rest of the season and help give his team a chance at the owner’s championship, which they earned,” Honeycutt said in a team release. “I’m excited to compete in contending, race-winning equipment as I pursue a title this season. We are going to work hard to have a solid final eight races of the season and continue to deliver great results for Stewart, his family, and this organization.”

“While I continue to recover, it was important for us to put someone in our truck that can help us compete at the highest level,” Friesen said. “I know Kaden will deliver strong performance in our truck and allow us to continue to run for the owner’s championship.”

Honeycutt has two top fives and nine top 10s this season and enters Watkins Glen International sixth in points. His ride for the race has not yet been announced.

Through 16 races, Friesen had one win, three top fives and six top 10s. Christopher Bell is driving the No. 52 at Watkins Glen.
