Kaden Honeycutt Out at Niece

Niece Motorsports has released Kaden Honeycutt from his driving duties in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the team announced Aug. 4.

“Honeycutt has signed a contract to race with a different Truck Series organization and OEM in 2026 — making this change allows our team the opportunity to begin building for next year,” the team said in a statement.

As a result, Connor Zilisch will pilot the No. 45 truck this weekend at Watkins Glen International. Bayley Currey will then drive the truck for the remainder of the season, starting at Richmond Raceway.

Through 16 races in 2025, Honeycutt and the team had scored two top fives and nine top 10s, with Honeycutt sixth in points.

“My plan is to continue to contend for race wins and position to make the playoffs this season,” Honeycutt said in a statement after the announcement. “I look forward to sharing my plans for the remainder of 2025 and beyond in the near future.”

Zilisch will make his first Truck start of 2025 at Watkins Glen. In 2024, he debuted in the series, earning a top five in six starts between Spire Motorsports and Henderson Motorsports. He has five wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season.

Currey has made eight Truck starts this year, all for Niece in its No. 44. He has one top five and three top 10s.
