Chase Briscoe Earns 6th Cup Pole of Season at Iowa

Chase Briscoe will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag Sunday afternoon (Aug. 3) at Iowa Speedway, earning the pole in today’s qualifying session for the Iowa Corn 350.

It’s the sixth pole for Briscoe this season after just two pole positions during his first four full-time Cup seasons. This is also the second consecutive race that he has set the fastest lap in qualifying. Briscoe went 136.933 miles per hour and clocked in at 23.004 seconds.

William Byron will share the front row with Briscoe, rolling off of the grid from the outside pole.

Kyle Larson and Austin Cindric will share row two to begin the 350-lap race, starting third and fourth, respectively. Brad Keselowski will round out the top five qualifiers, starting fifth. He’ll split row three with Ford teammate and 2024 Iowa race winner Ryan Blaney.

The remaining top 10 qualifiers include Carson Hocevar, Chase Elliott, AJ Allmendinger and Justin Haley

All but one of the 37 entered drivers took to the track in the qualifying session, with the exception being Kyle Busch, who wrecked during practice and will likely go to a backup car.

Cup Series Iowa Starting Lineup

The green flag for tomorrow’s Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol is slated to fly at 3:30 p.m. ET, with the race broadcast being aired on USA Network.
