Stock Car Scoop: Bubba Wallace Wins, Gets Big Bubble Break

A strategy-filled Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway ended with Bubba Wallace beating Kyle Larson to the line in overtime. Caleb Barnes and Phil Spain recap the race, discussing the strategy and how the win for Wallace helps give him a break from constantly having to worry about his points situation on the bubble.

While Wallace was in a great position to win before the overtimes, a late-race red flag for rain paused the race inside of the final 15 laps for the second weekend in a row. Barnes and Spain discuss NASCAR’s decision in both instances to wait for the brief showers to pass, allowing for the race to be completed fully.

Plus, Ty Gibbs officially won the inaugural In-Season Challenge. The two share their thoughts on how the challenge developed over the summer, and if there is anything they think would improve the challenge if it continues in future seasons.

There’s a lot to talk about and a short time to do so. Stop by for a listen and sign up for Stock Car Scoop on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts!
