Connor Zilisch took the victory in a rain-shortened NASCAR Xfinity Series BetRivers 200 at Dover Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 19.
Zilisch took the lead for the first time on the stage two restart and led twice for a race-high 77 circuits. Aric Almirola finished second, followed by Brandon Jones. Justin Allgaier and Jesse Love rounded out the top five.
Ryan Sieg finished sixth, followed by polesitter Taylor Gray. Sheldon Creed, William Sawalich and Christian Eckes rounded out the top 10.
An uneventful stage one saw multiple drivers struggle with a green race track following rain earlier in the afternoon. Gray led all 45 laps from the drop of the green flag and narrowly beat teammate Almirola to the stage victory. Meanwhile, Allgaier, who started at the rear of the field following post-qualifying repairs, raced his way to seventh by the end of stage one.

Jones led the field to the green flag to start stage two, but Zilisch didn’t waste any time taking the top spot before the field completed a single lap. Once out in clean air, the rookie took off, and while Almirola made a charge for the lead with the help of lap traffic, Zilisch took the stage two win. Polesitter Gray, who dropped to 15th after a slow pit stop under the stage one break, only managed to climb to 11th through a second caution-free stage.
On the stage three restart, Zilisch easily passed Kyle Sieg, who stayed on track while the rest of the field pitted. Sieg dropped outside the top 30 in less than two laps.
Meanwhile, just inside 100 laps remaining, Ross Chastain and Nick Sanchez made unscheduled pit stops at the same time for different reasons. Chastain reported bad vibration from what he thought may have been a driveshaft or rear-end issue. For Sanchez, he reported that something broke in the steering. Both drivers took their cars to the garage, where they finished in 37th and 38th.
Unfortunate ending to what was going to be a really good day. Had a mechanical failure that started to hurt us at the end of stage 1 and eventually ended our day early. Proud of the whole team and the speed we brought, onto Indy! @bigmchnracing

The first non-stage caution flew on lap 133 for incoming light rain, and the field ran just two laps before the red flag came out. Between the wet track and looming sunset, NASCAR was forced to call the race with 65 laps remaining, giving Zilisch his fourth win this season.
