Shane van Gisbergen would not be denied his second win of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season at the Chicago street course on Sunday (July 6), driving away from the Toyotas of Ty Gibbs and Tyler Reddick as they battled for second after a dominant showing.
His win did not come without controversy as Cody Ware slammed into the turn 6 tire barriers after his brakes failed. Was the caution called too late to spare Chicago of its rain-filled past? Wyatt Watson and Adam Cheek debate the timing of the caution at the end of the race.
The two also talk what could’ve been for Spire Motorsports’ Michael McDowell after a valiant challenge of van Gisbergen during the first half of the race before being sidelined by a throttle issue.
