A last-lap move propelled Chase Elliott to victory for the first time this season in yet another thrilling Atlanta summer showdown. Caleb Barnes and Luken Glover give their instant reactions to the action-packed NASCAR Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway on Saturday (June 29) night in the latest edition of the Frontstretch podcast Stock Car Scoop.
Part of the chaos at EchoPark included the Big One, taking place just a few laps into stage two. The duo discussed how the crash affected NASCAR’s first In-Season Challenge for better — or for worse – while sending nearly a dozen cars into the garage for good.
After that wreck eliminated several top contenders, it became apparent that someone would win for the first time this season. Eventually, it was Elliott — who entered Atlanta leading the group of non-winning drivers — who locked in his spot in the playoffs. Barnes and Glover talk about which of the remaining drivers might have had — and missed — their best opportunity to steal a spot for themselves.
