EJ Tamayo will join Fast Track Racing for a part-time slate in the ARCA Menards Series East, the organization announced on March 18.
Tamayo will pilot the No. 01 beginning at the East season opener at Five Flags Speedway.
“To continue to improve and challenge myself, I believe that this is the right move at this time in my career,” Tamayo said in a press release.
Ethan Hutchens will serve as the crew chief. Tony Cosentino, who co-owns Tamayo’s late model team along with EJ’s father Enrique, will serve as spotter and driver coach. Cosentino is also running part time in ARCA in 2025.
In addition to Five Flags, EJ Tamayo will compete at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Iowa Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.
“It’s always exciting to bring young kids into our program, and after watching EJ last year, I’m sure it will be a fun season,” Fast Track team owner Andy Hillenburg added. “I look for a few great finishes with E.J. and hope to help him move up the racing ladder towards accomplishing his goals”
“After a great result at Elko last year, I feel that we can carry that momentum into the new season and have solid results,” Tamayo continued. “I am excited to be racing with Fast Track at Five Flags. I want to thank my sponsors for their continued support and my team for their commitment to me and to our program.”
Tamayo made his ARCA debut at Elko Speedway in 2024. Driving for Tamayo Cosentino Racing, Tamayo started 10th and finished sixth.
Sponsorship for the No. 01 will come from Amici Engineering Contractors, Halley Engineering Contractors, Tamayo Sports Florida and The Isern Tamayo Family Foundation.
Tamayo also has made 26 starts in the Carolina Pro Late Model Series, earning seven top fives and 15 top 10s.
The 18-year-old will join Fast Track full-time East drivers Zachary Tinkle and Takuma Koga at Five Flags. Ed Pompa will also compete in that race.
Mark Kristl joined Frontstretch at the beginning of the 2019 NASCAR season. He is the site's ARCA Menards Series editor. Kristl is also an Eagle Scout and a proud University of Dayton alum.
