Bringing the Heat: Mike Skinner Reflects on Hall of Fame Career

Week one of the 2025 NASCAR season is now in the books, and on this episode of Bringing the Heat, Frontstretch‘s Dalton Hopkins sits down with former NASCAR driver Mike Skinner.

The 1995 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion details how the sport is run today as opposed to his time breaking in. Additionally, Skinner talks about his time returning back to the track after some time away, plus his appearance on the show The Grand Tour.

Tanner Marlar then joins Trey Lyle for the first time this season. The duo breaks down the return of an old familiar but certainly familiar sponsor back to the NASCAR family. Lyle and Marlar then discuss reports of the possibility of Dodge’s return back to the NASCAR ranks and early TV ratings from Daytona International Speedway.

The soundbite of the week comes courtesy of Kyle Busch, who talks about his frustrations with some of NASCAR’s operation procedures and how things could be done differently going forward.

The show concludes with a discussion on the safety of the cars, in particular at superspeedways. Is it a safety issue or just racing?
