Sergio Perez Out at Red Bull

Sergio Perez will not return to Oracle Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 in 2025, Perez and the team announced Dec. 18.

The news comes despite Perez having been under contract to race with the organization through 2026 following a deal signed earlier this year.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the past four years with Red Bull Racing and for the opportunity to race with such an amazing team,” Perez said in a release. “Driving for Red Bull has been an unforgettable experience, and I’ll always cherish the success we achieved together.

“We broke records, reached remarkable milestones, and I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people along the way.”

Perez’s plans for 2025 were not announced, nor were Red Bull’s plans for Perez’s now-former seat.

The 34-year-old boasts six F1 wins, five of which came with Red Bull from 2021 to 2023. He finished runner-up in points the latter year.

In 2024, he scored three runner-up finishes and ended up eighth in points.
