Cole Custer Captures Homestead Xfinity Pole

The NASCAR Xfinity Series took to the track for qualifying at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday (Oct. 20) evening, as the starting lineup was set for the Contender Boats 300.

Three of the last five cars to put in a lap set the fastest lap at the time, but in the end it was Cole Custer who laid down the fastest lap with an average speed of 165.604 mph after being the next-to-last car to set a time. This marks Custer’s sixth pole of the season with the series.

Fellow championship contender John Hunter Nemechek joined Custer on the front row, while Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill and Sammy Smith rounded out an all-playoff driver top five.
