According to NASCAR’s entry list on its app and on NASCAR.com, Zane Smith will pilot Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51 for this week’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway.
Neither RWR nor Smith has commented yet on the addition.
Smith replaces Cody Ware, who was suspended indefinitely by NASCAR after being arrested on April 10 for assault.
The 23-year-old Smith has made three Cup starts in his career, including two this season. All of them have come with Front Row Motorsports.
He’s the defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion and is running the full season for FRM there again, with two wins so far in 2023.
The Cup race at Martinsville is set for April 16 at 3 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
