Bubba Wallace Earns His & 23XI Racing’s 1st Cup Pole at Michigan

Bubba Wallace snagged the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series event at Michigan International Speedway Saturday (Aug. 6).

Wallace went 190.703 mph in the second round of qualifying to earn his and 23XI Racing’s first career pole, beating Christopher Bell for the top position.

Bell lines up second next to Wallace, while Kyle Busch and Joey Logano start third and fourth, respectively, in the second row. Austin Cindric rounds out the top five.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course winner Tyler Reddick was sixth quickest in the second round, while Martin Truex Jr. was seventh. Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin and Erik Jones complete the top 10 in the lineup.

Many drivers commented on their cars being tight throughout both practice and qualifying. However, the Toyotas were able to take six of the top 11 spots in qualifying even while battling ill-handling racecars.
