Set to make his first ARCA Menards Series start, John Hunter Nemechek showed he’s an instant contender. Nemechek won the pole for the ARCA Dawn 150 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Driving the No. 55 Venturini Motorsports Toyota, Nemechek bested fellow Toyota driver Sammy Smith by 0.122 seconds. Smith will start second. He has won back-to-back ARCA races.
Nick Sanchez, fellow Venturini driver Parker Chase, and points leader Rajah Caruth will in third through fifth, respectively.
Nemechek is one of six drivers running double-duty at Mid-Ohio. In addition to Nemechek, Colby Howard will start in sixth place, Kris Wright will start seventh, Taylor Gray will start eighth, Blaine Perkins will start 13th, and Jack Wood will start 16th.
Rounding out the starting top 10 are Jesse Love in ninth place and Dale Quarterly in 10th place.
All 25 drivers completed a lap so all drivers will start this 42-lap race.

Nemechek will lead the ARCA field to the green flag at 5 p.m. ET with TV coverage provided by FOX Sports 1.
