NOS, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Rekindle NASCAR Sponsorship

Roush Fenway Racing picked up a new, yet familiar, sponsor for Ricky Stenhouse Jr and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series No. 17 Ford Mustang team on Wednesday (May 29) with the signing of NOS Energy Drink for two races.

The sponsorship will be a primary for the FireKeepers Casino 400 on June 9 at Michigan International Speedway and the season’s penultimate race on Nov. 10 at ISM Raceway. NOS will also be an associate sponsorship for the rest of the season.

NOS, which is owned by Monster Energy, previously sponsored Stenhouse in the Xfinity Series between 2012 and 2015 and supports his sprint car efforts.

“I’m excited to have NOS Energy back on our No. 17 Ford,” Stenhouse said in a press release. “They have been a great supporter and partner of mine since 2012 on and off the track. Their support throughout the entire racing community shows their dedication and passion to all forms of motorsports. It’s great to have them back in the Cup Series.”

Stenhouse is coming off a season-best finish of fifth in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

He is 19th in Cup driver standings with 303 points, only eight points behind the final driver in playoff position, Kyle Larson. The No. 17 team is also in 19th place in the owner standings with the same amount of points.
