Daniel Suarez’s Crew Chief Issued Lug Nut Penalty After Bristol Cup Race

Scott Graves, crew chief for Daniel Suarez, was the sole recipient of a penalty after the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway this past Saturday. The crew chief of the No. 19 Toyota has been fined $10,000 after “lug nut(s) [were] not properly installed,” according to NASCAR’s penalty report, issued Wednesday.

Suarez finished 15th at Bristol in his second Cup start at the track. This is Graves’ third lug nut penalty after June’s Pocono race and July’s Cup race at New Hampshire.

Two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams were also penalized after the UNOH 200 last Wednesday. Kevin “Bono” Manion, crew chief for the No. 51 truck and Richard Mason, crew chief for the No. 83 entry, also fell foul of the same lug nut penalty with a $2,500 fine apiece.

Harrison Burton took the Kyle Busch Motorsports No. 51 Toyota home in 18th, while JJ Yeley ended the evening for the No. 83 Copp Motorsports in 19th.
