With one round of the West Coast Swing complete, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series next heads to Phoenix to one of NASCAR’s most unique tracks.
NASCAR released the preliminary entry list for the Mar. 13 Good Sam 500(k) at Phoenix International Raceway. The list includes 39 entrants, one short of the maximum field allowed by the charter system.
With Tony Stewart still recovering from back injuries sustained before the season, Ty Dillon will return to his No. 14 Chevrolet. Dillon first competed in the machine at Atlanta Motor Speedway, finishing 17th.
Josh Wise (No. 30) and Cole Whitt (No. 98) will join Ryan Blaney and Wood Brothers Racing as charter-less teams competing in the event.
The Sprint Cup Series will return to action at Phoenix on Friday, Mar. 11, for practice at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by Coors Light Pole Qualifying at 6:45 p.m. ET. The field will then return on Saturday for two practice sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET. Coverage for Sunday’s Good Sam 500(k) will begin at 3:30 p.m. on FOX and MRN.
