Carl Edwards to Garage Following Contact with Kasey Kahne

Shortly following a restart with 76 laps to go in the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Carl Edwards lost the nose of his No.19 Toyota and made contact with Kasey Kahne.

After smacking the Turn 4 wall, the pair banged doors into Turn 1, causing Edwards to spin and hit the inside wall. Denny Hamlin also received minor damage.

“Just racing as hard as I can,” Edwards told FOX in the garage. “It’s completely my fault. Kasey did a good job, I just got sucked up into him there off of (Turn) 4. Torn up the right side a little bit, got loose into 1 and that was it.”

Despite the heavy hit, Kahne was able to stay on track and on the lead lap.

“That was defintely my fault, I feel bad for Kasey,” Edwards continued. “We will get this fixed and hopefully get back out there.”
